AREAS OF PRACTICE

work visas

Temporary work visas, lasting from a few months to a few years in duration. A large variety of “nonimmigrant visa” categories are available, depending on the job offer and the qualifications of the prospective employee. Nearly all temporary work visas require employer sponsorship of the noncitizen worker, and provide employer-specific work authorization in the US.

GREEN CARDS

Permanent residence and work authorization can be achieved through both employment-based and family-based channels. The employment-based green card process is available to noncitizen workers in any occupation, regardless of nationality or educational background. While employer sponsorship is required in the vast majority of employment-based green card cases, workers need not be in the United States to apply for an employment-based green card.

Individual Applications

WIVL also assists individuals with a number of other immigration benefits applications, including family-based applications, naturalization (citizenship) applications, DACA applications, and visitor visas (to name a few). No two individual immigration cases are alike. A precise understanding of the individual’s immigration history, work history, educational history, and family history is essential to determine eligibility and applicable wait times.
